To Love and Be Loved

IMG_20150214_213055While everyone is busy buying gifts for their significant other, going out to dinner, and celebrating “Valentine’s Day”, I have decided to dedicate my time to reading the bible. I have found some very uplifting scriptures on the subject of love that I would like to share. I hope that you find them as inspiring and beautiful as I do šŸ™‚

Song of Solomon 1:2 – Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine

Song of Solomon 2;16My beloved is mine, and I am his

Song of Solomon 8:6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death

Song of Solomon 8:7 – Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned

1 Corinthians 13:4-8Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails

Ephesians 5:25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

Ephesians 5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband

Colossians 3:14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity
